JANICE REID

Professor Reid has served by ministerial appointment on the Board of the National Library of Australia in Canberra. From 2004 to 2012 she was a trustee of the Art Gallery of New South Wales, in which role she chaired the Gallery’s Acquisitions and Loans Committee, represented the trustees on the Council of the Art Gallery Society and was one of the trustee judges of the Archibald and Wynne Prizes.
Her previous appointments include the National Cultural Heritage Committee, which oversees the protection of Australia’s moveable heritage, the Board of the Queensland Museum, the Kedumba Drawing Award and as a judge for the Woollhara Small Sculpture Prize. She established the Western Sydney University outdoor sculpture competition; an aquisitive award to bring major public sculptures to the University's campuses and provide an exhibition venue in the West for emerging and established artists. She also served on the Salvation Army Greater Western Sydney Advisory Board.
